In keeping with his administration’s electoral promise of mitigating youths unemployment with a resolve to engage them as job creators through acquisition of relevant skills with the involvement of Widows and Women in the various schemes of training and empowerment..

Apostle Oloruntoba Oke- led government in conjunction with the legislative Arm of Ifako-Ijaiye Council Area of Lagos State, has restated his Commitment by ensuring that all the three strata namely the youths, Widows and Women are meaningfully empowered for economic upliftment.

Oke made this known while declaring open the historic and eventful 3-In- One Women, Widows and Youths Empowerment Programme on Friday, 6 November, 2020 at the NRC Building, event hall at Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way, Iju, Lagos.

In his welcome speech, the council Chairman appreciated all the APC Apex stakeholders leadership in the council for their impact and commitment to the growth and development of the local government under a rancour free environment.

He re-emphasize the importance of the empowerment intervention program as a way of celebrating the youths of the local government for their selflessness and dedication to the well-being and peace experienced during and after the unfortunate #EndSars protest by applying restraint and not joining the bandwagon of bad youths elsewhere who engaged in wanton destruction of public and private properties cum investment which led to the unfortunate loss of lives which could have been avoidable in the local government

In order to reciprocate the good attitude of the council youths and all the sacrifices they made in ensuring peace and minimal Carnage, thus gave room for the establishment of the Youth Development Committee. He commended the Honorable members of the Legislative Arm for the wisdom behind the initiative which was driven by a heart of service.

He also lauded the effort of all the security agencies and personnel that stood in the gap when the mainstream security agencies were temporary off the road during the #EndSars crisis.

Furthermore, in showing the unending commitment to the empowerment of the youths in the Council Area, the Council Chairman pledged a N5 Million monthly commitment to be set aside and be administered for use economically to empower the youths in order to move them forward and minimise unemployment amongst them.

The chairman enjoined the recipients of working tools to ensure it is judiciously utilized for the purpose so as to bring about a progressive economic development amongst the youths. Oke, also admonished the youth Committee members to pursue as part of their term of reference, to ensure that our youths fully identify various sectors of engagement to make it easy for their employment with proactive innovative ideas to create a platform for excelling.

The high point of the event was the presentation by all the stakeholders present who joined the Chairman to award items ,certificates , cash award and new laptops each for 100 Youths who successfully completed the three- month ICT graphics design on Branding and printing internship, Women and Widows economy training and Empowerment where over 100 of them were trained in different skills and craftsmanship ranging from tailoring, Catering, Batik Making and Leather making with the official inauguration of a 9- member Youth Development Committee in it’s resolve to engage and interface the youths and government together through the identification of various areas of engagement training, empowerment and self development in order to reposition the entire youth.

Among dignitaries that graced the event include: Otunba Abayomi Ogunnusi(MHR), Hon. Gboyega Salvador-Adebayo, Barr.Joan Adebobuyi, Barr Seni Tobun, Barr. Babatunde Rajh- Label, Hon. Demola Doherty, Comrd. Olurotimi Adeleye, Hon. Kamoru Summonu, Mrs Doyin Coker- Ogunbiyi, Hon. Akin fadayomi, Immediate past APC LGA Party Chairman, Pst.Samuel Olu- Opajobi, Comrd.
